My conclusion

I listened to this via Audible which was narrated ok by Mastin, but this is not a book you can binge read. You need to listen carefully, write down the questions and do the work. Kindle or Hard copy would be my recommendation as the audio book doesn’t come with any work sheets.

This book could save someone years of work with psychologist as this 40 day program gets to the point of your emotional blockages.

If you have suffered from emotional trauma, have trouble looking for your life purpose or just feel lost in general, the program will give the answers if you do the work.

  1. There comes a time in a persons life when you just have to reevaluate your life. There have been times when I have felt like I had nothing to look forward to so I need to take control now before I fall any further. Do you really think this book could change my life or do I have to want to change aswell?

  2. I appreciate your honest review. I’m always skeptical about “motivational” books and audiobooks because I’m very particular about what I invest a lot of my time in so I appreciate the thorough review of Kipp’s book. 40 days is a long time but it seems like a very good resource.

  3. Thank you for a great review of the book.. Sometimes I can’t figure out my life purpose, even though deep down I feel I am here to do more than I am doing.

I do believe in personal development, however my biggest challenge at this time is not having enough time. Realistically how much time would I need on a daily basis to work through the program?

    • Time is my currency and and use up as much as I can each day. The way I did was listen to each chapter 30 mins in the morning, write down the questions for the program and the either do the work straight away (10-30 mins) or do it in the evening if I had a busy morning.
      Hope this help Moni.

  4. I agree that this kind of book would likely be more suitable to be read as a book or an ebook rather than an audio book. I would imagine the tasks or activities you would be asked to do you’ll have to put down the book and do some evaluation on yourself. Likely you’ll even have to re-read some of the parts just to really dig down deep. Audio books are not quite suitable as they tend to just keep going while you listen.

In any case, very nicely done with the book review and it does sound like this would be a very interesting and, like you said, a life changing read. I would be looking into this book further and probably buy it myself. Thanks for writing this review.

  5. The book sounds very serious but interesting. Most of us have some things that we would like to work on about our life, but don’t know where to start or how to approach the subject. It sounds that this 40 day program really works. Thank you very much for sharing the information.

  6. This is a very good article. I am glad others feel this way as well. Now, aside from not having any money in my life, my life’s purpose has also become blurry. Many of my woes could definitely be solved by having more money, but finding my purpose is something I have been chasing for some time.

It seems sometimes like the harder I try, the more depressed and sad I become and this is probably connected to not living towards my purpose. This book sounds like it could help people discover that and live more in line with what they truly want. Happy you shared this post and happy holidays!

  9. Hi Vince,
Thanks for sharing this read! I am taking a course in the New Year that with deal with emotional blockages… I would be interested to see what parallels…. did you take anything away that really shifted you?

    • Hi Andrea, I’d love to hear how your course goes. I think this book really will have a similar theme.
The biggest takeaways from this book is finding the right questions to ask yourself? It sounds silly, but once you take to the time and write the answers to these deep questions, something happens in your brain and weight is lifted.
Hope you get a chance to read it.

  10. In my opinion, although all of us go through different challenges in life, it boils back down to our inner strengths on how we look and deal with these challenges. Understanding ourselves as well as getting inspiration from other people’s journeys can definitely build up this inner strength.

I like that this book is not about stories and that it is more like a manual to know ourselves better. Like a cliche saying, everything starts from within.

    • Greta comment Alex. The power from within is strong when unlocked. The trouble is finding that power when life is muddy. This book certainly helps.

  11. Hello Vince
This is an amazing review that attracts me as a reader and makes me eager to read the book. The video is superb and very inspiring. I personally believe of the great influence of books upon our personalities. Few years ago, I suffered from a great melancholy after the death of my father and brother in the same year. A friend recommended some books to read and they helped me to come to life again. I really believe of the impact of books upon our life. As you said, they can dig inside our souls and change our thoughts, actions and behavior.

    • Thanks for sharing your story Rania. It’s amazing the impact that books can have on one life’s influences. Great to hear books have helped you.

  12. This book sounds really interesting! It is reminding me of Eckhart Tolle, of which I am a huge fan. I took the online class he did with Oprah. “A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life Purpose”. It was a long time ago, but I enjoyed it.

I don’t remember doing any work though. However, it did make me think a lot.

Thank you for sharing. I may purchase this book.

  13. Thanks for sharing about this book. It sounds like this could be a very helpful program, but I worry about finding the time to work through the whole thing. About how many hours per day does it take to work through the exercises?

  14. I’m all about a good life hack that gets to the bottom of stuff without the years and dollars spent on therapy. Some people believe we already know all of the answers, it’s just a matter of having the courage to listen to ourselves and act. I tend to think we need more guidance than that 🙂

    • Agree with your comments Penelope. Listen to ourselves is an important skills that we tend to not use as people are scared of their own inner voice.

  15. Hello Vince, thanks for sharing this product review with us. There are times in life when I suffer from worries, overthinking, stress, and self-doubt.
